FAQ

Q: Do you play game X at your store?

A: Maybe.  How is that for a definitive answer!  Basically we are here to support gamers and the gaming community.  That means if we have a group of people who want to play it, we will do our best to support it. Gamers are always free to use our space for meeting up to play, and we can special order items to help you get your game on.  Lastly, if we have enough gamers playing a particular game we will work with the community to get events scheduled and prize support established.

Q: How much does it cost to play at your store?

A: Nothing!  Our play space is open for gamers to use.  We do often have events scheduled, and to participate in those there is usually an entry fee, but any available play space is always free for gamers to use.

Q:  Do you do special orders?

A: Yes! If we don't have something in stock and we are able to get it for you we would be glad to do a special order. Typically we do a 15% discount on special order for items we don't normally carry but the % is subject to some variability based on costs. Special orders less than $25 will not require prepayment, while larger orders might.

Q: Do you have FNM (Friday Night Magic), what format is it, and how much is it?

A: We have several different FNM events for your enjoyment every Friday.  At 7pm we have a Standard constructed FNM with a $5 entry fee.  Boosters of the most recent set are given to players with a 2-1-1 record or better.  At 7pm we also have a booster draft FNM with a $12 entry fee.  Drafts are done with the most current draft format and booster prizes are given to the top 4 finishers in each pod.  Also at 7pm we have another constructed format FNM utilizing either Modern or Pauper construction rules on different weeks (1st, 3rd, & 5th for Modern; 2nd & 4th for Pauper). The top 2 finishers of each event will receive a promo card and two more will be give away as door prizes.

Q: Do you carry any Game Workshop products?

A: Yes we do!  We are an approved Game Workshop Stockist and carry a wide range of Warhammer 40,000 and Age of Sigmar models plus paints, bases, and tools to support your hobby.  Additionally we can special order anything you might want including Web Exclusive items. Special orders for non-webexclusive items have a 15% discount, and Web Exclusive special orders have a 5% discount we do not charge for shipping to the store!

Q: The person I am trading with doesn't have any cards I need, can they just buy my cards off of me?

A: No they cannot.  While Blue Ox Games encourages players to trade among themselves, the only entity that may buy and sell cards on the premises is Blue Ox Games (this includes the parking lot).  If someone doesn't have anything you need they may trade you packs they purchase from us or even buy you store credit.

Q: I'm 15 years old and I want to come hang out at the store. Cool right?

A: Sorry, but people 15 and under must be accompanied by a parent, guardian, or family member at least 18 years old. Don't worry, we have plenty of space so you won't have to sit near your parents!

Q: I want to order 300 of a card from you website, is that cool?

A: Due to a desire to allow the maximum number of people to have access to cards we don't typically sell more than 8 of a card to a single customer in a single day.  This allows players who want to speculate on a cards value to have their chance, while players who simply want to play the card also have an opportunity to get some. If you would like to purchase more than 8 of a card you will need to talk to a staff member in store or contact us a sales@blueoxgames.com.
